School Closings & Delays

It's that time of year again when we all need to be aware that bad weather can cause school closings or delay. CAPS operates a program that is intended to make decisions with the safety and best interest of all of our students and families in mind. Her is the information you need to be informed about school closings and delays.

Local radio and television stations will be notified as soon as possible in the morning regarding the length of time school will be delayed, or advise that school will be closed.
Our transportation department does a weather check and works with our local city, state, county police departments along with the Wexford County Road Commission, to determine the safety of our roads and the weather conditions. Recommendations are then made to our administration team, who decide on whether or not to proceed with a delay or closing.
CAPS makes every effort to communicate with the community regarding changes from our normal schedule. In the event of a delay or cancellation, these are the community stations that have the information:
