an interdisciplinary WebQuest for 5th grade







TASK
Your task is to carefully research an American
Monument. You will use the linked sources to create a 5 paragraph written
report, a trip planner,
a mini-diorama, a
5 slide PowerPoint, and send an online
postcard.
5
paragraph report will include:
1 paragraph introduction
1 descriptive paragraph describing what monument looks like
1 informative paragraph explaining the meaning of the monument/symbol
1 persuasive paragraph explaining why your monument/symbol should be located
where it is
1 paragraph conclusion
Report will be prepared on word processor
in 14 font and submitted in hard copy format with mini-diorama, and saved to
server in shared file. All reports will include bibliography.
Trip
Planner will include:
Map showing where monument is located
Driving directions and mileage from our school to monument
Cost for trip to see monument: gas, admission for family of four
Mini-diorama:
Create a detailed model of your
monument, including any background scenery that is appropriate (box
provided)
