Choose an animal from the Kid's Planet website listed below.

Research
Follow this link to  Kid's Planet.
Go to Get the Facts to find your animal and collect information about your animal.  Fill in your fact sheet 

Organize
Organize your ideas to write a letter to the editor.  Use the information on your sheet to complete page 81 in your Reading Lab book.  Come up with at least 3 main ideas to convince your reader of your position

Write
Review the parts of a Letter to an Editor.  Use the ideas collected on Lab book page 81 to write a Letter to the Editor that convinces readers of the importance of protecting your specific wild animal.  Thin of the ways humans affect this creature, such as by hunting or using pesticides.  

Your letter should have two or three main ideas that give your opinion of why it's important to protect this animal.  Support facts from your fact sheet to support each main idea.

Write your letter in Microsoft Word using correct  letter format. Save to your file and print 1 copy.
