Home COOL Things Calendar Newsletter Menus PTL Greenway Annual Report |
Yee Haw! Lincoln is rounding up readers this month for March is Reading Month. Our month long theme is Western and we are placing a bounty on every student here at Lincoln. Each week, Monday-Thursday students will need to read their set bounty of minutes at home depending on their grade level. If your child successfully meets his/her bounty and turns in their slips, we will be roping them up each Friday for some Root Tootin’ Fun that will include line dancing, cowboy style relay racing, card tournaments, and western arts and craft projects. Here is the list of the grade level bounties that need to be reached each week.
Kindergarten: 15 minutes per day
First Grade: 15 minutes per day
Second Grade: 15 minutes per day
Third Grade: 20 minutes per day
Fourth Grade: 20 minutes per day
Fifth Grade: 20 minutes per day
In addition to
all that fun on Fridays, we are also asking our cowboys and cowgirls to dress
for our theme.
Friday March 7th-Wear a cowboy/cowgirl hat.
Friday March 14th-Dress like your favorite book character.
Thursday March 21st-Snuggle up with a good book partner-wear your PJ’s to school.
Friday March 28th- Western wear-dress like a real cowboy or cowgirl.
Finally…Mr. Hanson better saddle up for his big end of the month surprise. We are going to find out if he is a cowboy or not.
